The site is static pages. There is no account, no sign up and no profile, so there is very little to collect. What follows is the complete list.
What is collected
The host records, for every page it serves, an IP address, a timestamp, the address of the page requested, the browser string and the link you arrived from. That is an ordinary web server log, used for security and for counting visits. We keep it thirty days and then delete it.
The servers that hold the site and those logs are not in Cameroon. Your browsing data is therefore processed abroad. That is true of almost every site you read, but it is better written down than assumed.
What is not collected
No account, no password, no phone number, no identity document. No payment data, because we take no money. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no social network button following you between sites. Nothing is sold, because there is nothing to sell. You can check this: view the source of any page and count the requests to third party domains.
That is the site as it stands today, and the About page says we intend to carry advertising to pay for it. If that ever happens, this page is rewritten before the first advert loads, naming what it sets and what it sends. Until you read it here, there is none.
Cookies
We set none, so there is no banner to dismiss.
The language preference
One thing is stored in your browser: the language you chose, written to local storage under the key exact.lang with the value fr or en. It stops the site sending you back to the other language on every visit. It holds no identifier, it never leaves your device, and it is never sent to us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it, and the home page then offers you both languages again.
If you write to us
We keep your message and your email address for as long as it takes to handle the correction and to keep a record of what was changed. The correction itself may be published: the amount, the source, the date. Not your name, unless you ask us to use it.
Your rights
The governing text is Law No. 2024/017 of 23 December 2024 on the protection of personal data, with the APDP as regulator. You can ask for access to what we hold about you, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted, at privacy@exacttarif.com. You can also complain to the APDP directly.
Readers outside Cameroon ask which regime applies. This is a Cameroonian site run by a Cameroonian company, and the 2024 law is the one we answer to. If you are in the European Union or Canada and want your log entries and correspondence deleted, write to the same address.
Published summaries of the penalties under that law disagree with each other. We hold to our own rule here and quote no figure for them.
