What this is
MINADER’s DUS (Distinctness, Uniformity, and Stability) and VAT (Value for Cultivation and Use) tests are mandatory evaluations required to register a new plant variety in the official catalogue and authorize the commercialization of its seeds. These evaluations assess specific plant characteristics, namely distinctness (the variety differs from those already known), uniformity (plants within the variety exhibit consistent characteristics), and stability (the variety retains its properties across successive generations of cultivation). DUS and VAT tests also measure the plant's practical and economic merit by evaluating its agronomic value (field yield; resistance to diseases, pests, or harsh climates) and technological value (suitability for industrial processing, storage, or consumption).
What readers say they paid
The law sets a fee. At the counter it is not always the one you pay. Here is what readers report, counted and summarised.
Nobody has reported an amount for this procedure yet.
If you have done it, say what you paid. We publish the figures together, never your account on its own.
