What this is
The driver's license is the official authorization to drive a motor vehicle. It is mandatory for driving throughout the country and must correspond to the category of the vehicle being used. There are several license categories: category A for motorcycles, category B for passenger vehicles, category C for vehicles used for transporting goods and heavy goods vehicles, category D for public passenger transport, and category E for vehicles with trailers. The driver's license is issued by the Ministry of Transport (Road Transport Directorate) after passing theoretical and practical exams. Driving any motorized vehicle without this document is punishable by penalties and fines during roadside checks.
