These procedures, overseen by the Ministry of Tourism and Leisure, involve evaluating an establishment (such as a hotel, restaurant, leisure park, or travel agency) against current standards in order to assign, modify, or revoke its comfort level or category. Classification assigns a category to a facility following its construction, based on its amenities and services. Reclassification, carried out after expansion or renovation work, allows the establishment's category to be adjusted to reflect new services offered. Downgrading lowers an establishment's category when it no longer meets the required standards. Fees associated with these procedures cover the evaluation and categorization of the establishments and facilities.
