This revenue relates as a result of road traffic prevention, control and enforcement operations carried out by the competent authorities, particularly the National Gendarmerie. It covers checks carried out on drivers and vehicles, as well as the detection and reporting of offences relating to compliance with traffic rules, possession and presentation of mandatory documents, vehicle condition and equipment, and, more generally, any obligation imposed on road users. When an offence is detected, the authorized officer prepares the corresponding report or statement, and the amount of the fine is determined according to the nature of the offence and the tariff established by the applicable regulations. The offender may then pay the fine, in which case a receipt or proof of payment is issued. The offender may also refuse or decline to pay the fine and, where the offence is disputed, request that the matter be referred to the competent court in order to appear before the court and exercise their rights. In such cases, the case is recorded as disputed or pending before the court and monitored until a decision is issued by the competent authority. The digitalization of the process therefore ensures end-to-end traceability, from the detection of the offence through payment, non-payment, dispute, any judicial proceedings and, where applicable, recovery of the amounts due.
