What this is
The maritime professional record book (LPM) is the official identification and control document that authorizes any seafarer to work legally aboard a merchant, fishing, or pleasure vessel in Cameroon. Attesting to the holder's professional qualifications, medical fitness, and sailing experience, it records the history of their embarkations and disembarkations. Issued by the Ministry of Transport (via the department responsible for the merchant navy), this book validates the seafarer's status in compliance with international conventions. Obtaining it requires a complete application package comprising a stamped application, a birth certificate, a recent criminal record extract, a medical certificate issued by a doctor approved by the maritime authorities, and proof of training (diplomas, certificates of competency, or employment contracts).
What readers say they paid
The law sets a fee. At the counter it is not always the one you pay. Here is what readers report, counted and summarised.
Nobody has reported an amount for this procedure yet.
If you have done it, say what you paid. We publish the figures together, never your account on its own.
