What this is
In Cameroon, animal slaughter is regulated by the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife (MINFOF), which classifies animal species according to their vulnerability. Slaughter rights are divided into: Class A: Animal species whose slaughter is prohibited (e.g., gorillas, great apes, manatees). Class B: Vulnerable species whose slaughter is only authorized for holders of a hunting permit. Class C: Partially protected species. The slaughter tax is levied on the slaughter of one or more animal species to finance health controls, veterinary inspections, and the organization of the sector. Slaughtering or poaching protected animals without a permit constitutes a serious offense. Any offender is subject to imprisonment, heavy fines, and damages.
What readers say they paid
The law sets a fee. At the counter it is not always the one you pay. Here is what readers report, counted and summarised.
Nobody has reported an amount for this procedure yet.
If you have done it, say what you paid. We publish the figures together, never your account on its own.
