What this is
The environmental permit guarantee deposit is a financial guarantee required by the administration before an environmental permit is issued. It constitutes a regulated non-tax revenue intended to cover potential environmental damage resulting from authorized activities. Its purpose is to prevent environmental risks, hold operators financially accountable, and ensure compensation for damages caused by pollution or non-compliance with environmental standards. The deposit covers the submission and registration of permit applications, environmental risk assessments, compliance verification with environmental regulations, and the establishment of a financial guarantee that may be used in case of default. Its collection and management are carried out by the competent services of the ministry responsible for environmental affairs. Payment is made through revenue collection offices or public treasury platforms, with the issuance of an official receipt in accordance with public accounting regulations.
