What this is
The meat transit tax (administered by Customs) is a non-fiscal customs levy collected upon importation into the national territory. Implemented at the customs border in collaboration with MINEPIA, it aims to monitor, trace, and regulate flows of imported meat in order to protect the local production sector and ensure consumer health safety. Payment of this tax to customs authorities is mandatory to obtain the release order for imported meat shipments.
What readers say they paid

Nobody has reported an amount for this procedure yet.
If you have done it, say what you paid. We publish the figures together, never your account on its own.
