What this is
The fee for entry and renewal of electronic communications licenses is a non-tax revenue collected by the State upon the issuance or renewal of operating licenses granted to electronic communications operators. In Cameroon, this fee is generally collected with each license renewal, which occurs every ten (10) years. This revenue falls under the purview of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL). Its purpose is to regulate access to and retention of operators in the electronic communications market, while ensuring financial compensation for the operation of this strategic sector. It also contributes to generating non-tax revenue for the State upon the renewal of operators' licenses.
